If you asked me in 2014 where I’d be in 2024, I would have never guessed photographing weddings as a career. Especially not for an old high school bestie of mine, Hailey. ..But here we are 10 years later and it’s happening. I am so freakin’ pumped for them tying the knot next month. If anyone deserves her happily ever after, it’s Hailey. She is one of the sweetest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. Her and Nathaniel are perfect for each other + I know that’ll shine on their wedding day.
Her and Nathaniel moved to a new state recently, so we didn’t plan on doing engagement photos, but they happened to be back in town for their wedding shower and it worked out great. Even though the forecast for the evening we planned was rainy, that didn’t stop us. Secret is, it didn’t actually rain during their session, but we loved the idea of it and incorporated a lil umbrella prop anyways. I’ve been super inspired at all my engagement sessions lately and was so excited to create the vision in my head with these two. Of course they rocked it!
Despite the move, they are still getting married here next month, so no destination weddings for me (this year!). But I don’t mind traveling all around Indiana capturing love. I’ve seen all the small towns, cornfields, and dollar generals along the way. Sometimes on long drives around the state I even count the dollar generals I pass, haha!
They are having their dog in the ceremony + I can’t wait. Believe it or not, it’ll be the only dog I’ve ever photographed during a ceremony. I tried to convince my husband to add our dogs to our ceremony in 2019, but he was right, they definitely would not have behaved, lol!
Enjoy these lovely images - including dreamy black and whites at the end!
