Adam + Liagh's dreamy indianapolis Engagement Session

I recently had the chance to connect with Adam and Liagh, who found me through some mutual friends. It turns out they’re tying the knot at Emberwood Events next May, which is such a fantastic venue! It’s always nice when the stars align like that, especially since Emberwood is also owned by my husband’s colleague. Can you imagine the vibes at their wedding? It’s going to be great!

As part of my wedding packages, we kicked things off by planning their engagement session, and I sent over some past galleries to help them choose a location. They ended up picking Holcomb Gardens, which is fantastic! It’s a classic spot, but it seems like not many clients have been into it this year like in the past. But what do you know? The campus has finally started planting flowers again after a couple of years of looking a little bare during Covid. Talk about good timing!

We happened to score the most epic sunset during our shoot, which is such a relief given that Indianapolis has had a serious humidity streak recently. 

But seriously, there’s just something so entrancing about that golden hour light. While I love shooting at different times, there’s nothing quite like that warm glow to add some romance to the images.

After taking a little break from engagement sessions, I felt super inspired and ready to get creative with these two. They were incredible, just flowing into every pose I suggested. They even embraced some of my wacky ideas—like Liagh kicking off her heels and running barefoot through the landscaping. That kind of trust makes a world of difference and really elevates the session! I get that some people can feel awkward in front of the camera, but stepping out of your comfort zone is always worth it. It was such a fun shoot, and I can’t wait for their wedding day at Emberwood!
